About B.C. Gupta Memorial Central Library
The B.C. Gupta Memorial Central Library established on 1935, which is one of the best support services of Gurucharan College. The Central library is well equipped with modern facilities and resources in the form of books, journals, Reference books, e-journals, e-books, Manuscripts, Digital Library, etc. The mission of the Central Library is to provide information services and access to bibliographical and full text digital and printed resources to support the scholarly and informational needs of the Institutes' user community.
Introduction
In keeping with the Vision and Mission of the Institute, the B.C. Gupta Memorial Central Library and information services play a vital role in supporting, teaching and learning activities. library is a source to get information support for course curriculum as well as for self-development of the teaching learning community. The library is an automated open access library system. The library staff aims to provide excellent services to the users.

Library System: Open Access System where library users can browse books in the stack & issue Library Holdings
The Library remains closed on all Gazzetted holidays

Books: The Library has a collection of 38609 books comprising various subjects taught in the College. Library’s book collections are arranged subject wise on respective shelves.
Reference Collection: Reference collection is approximately 4000. Books available in Reference Section can be consulted within the library subject to copyright regulations reference material can be photocopied. Photocopy Service is available in the Property Counter.
Periodical Collection: The journals with professional and research orientation are subscribed by the Central library. General magazines and career guidance magazine etc. are also subscribed by library. Central Library subscribes to 07 daily newspapers in Bengali (2) and English (5) are subscribed by the regularly. Namely: Dainik Jugasankha, Samayik Prasanga, The Telegraph, The Hindu, The Assam Tribune, Employment News and Eastern Chronicle
Journals: 20 nos. of print journals and 20 Magazines and Career Guidance Publication. Also, all the departmental Journals are available in the Central Library.
Digital Library Section: The Library is having a digital library with techfocuz digital Library Software.
UGC-Network Resource Centre: Under this centre, coordination of various activities, programmes schemes, notices, etc, sponsored by UGC are looked after besides providing Internet services to teachers and students
EDUSAT National Network Centre: The EDUSAT National Network Centre, which has been developed in collaboration with the Consortium of Educational Communication, New Delhi, is presently active in the College library, through which national educational programmes telecast by CEC, UGC, ISRO, IGNOU are available not only for viewing but one can also participate in the discussions live through phone or by web camera.
UGC Infonet Digital Library Consortium: The Obllege library has been selected for the UGO Infonet Digital Library Consortium, a programme wluch is sponsored by the LGC under INFLIBNET Centre, Ahmedabad. Though activities are pending yet, when it will get activated. library users will be able to browse and download approximately 4600 periodicals, national and international, in the library. The G.C. College library is amongst other 50 colleges of all over India to get selected for such programme.
N-LIST Programme: The College is now having the latest INFLIBNET Programme called National Library & information Service of Scholarly Content KN-LIST) through which more than 6000+ e-journals (including current issues with 5-10 years back Giles, and more than 31,35,000+ e-books are accessible for any user using login ID and Password Students are allowed to use this facility from the Central Library
