Inheriting the legacy of the founder fathers Gurucharan college, initially motivated to develop it as the centre of woman education and woman empowerment since the day of its inception in 1935 and subsequently growing up as the prime centre of co-education in this southern part of Assam, this college has carved out a distinct identity of its own in the domain of higher education which is really a matter of great pride and pleasure.

Keeping in mind the pressing demand of the need of the hour, the college is always pro-active to impart futuristic education in different streams both in the H.S. and Degree levels.

Our main mission of life is to educate the learners from every walk of life, both rural and urban. It is also the aim of the college to make opportunities available for each of them with a view to making them self-reliant and self respectful and encouraging them to be bolder and stronger in curricular and co-curricular activities capitalizing which they will acquire an imposing space in India and abroad.

It is our objective to enlighten our students to think clearly and act rightly. A huge group of alumni settled in different professions and vocation of life are our strength and the college is proud of them.

Finally, I take the privilege to welcome the freshers as well as their guardians who have shown their keenness to recognize the excellence of this college and to become a part of it.
